Pinterest Inspired DIY Paint Chip Art

So I was Pinteresting yesterday, looking for some new DIY projects. Something just doesn't feel right if I'm not in the middle of a project.

I came across this Pinterest post: (This picture below is a screen shot, so clicking on it won't take you to the link like it does on Pinterest. Here's the actual link: http://honeywerehome.blogspot.com/2012/03/diy-paint-chip-art.html)

I looked at it, decided it was easy enough, and I knew exactly where to put the finished product. I spent money on the canvases and the heart punch (which I got at Michael's for 40% off! = $6). The paint chips were free from Walmart. When you're taking five of each color, it looks a little suspicious, so you kinda have to do it on the sly.

I decided to use the colors in my shower curtain, which I also got from Walmart, so I just picked up one of the same shower curtains and used it to match the colors that I needed. Then, when I got home, I used the shower curtain again to decide what color pattern to use. Here's how it turned out:

I'm not an artist, but I like to make art.

So, I don't consider myself to be an artist. I just get ideas and run with them. Sometimes my ideas come from Pinterest, and sometimes I'll be thinking about something for a few days or weeks and all of a sudden, a great idea pops into my head.

These photos are just some of my art that I have in my apartment and also art that I have made for other people.

Mirrors aren't really art...but I'm proud of them.

My bestest cousin loves the alphabet.

Thank you, Pinterest, for this idea.

Again, thank you Pinterest.

Not sure what to do with this piece. But I know I love it.

"I might be okay, but I'm not fine at all."

"Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it. I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it."

I have been listening to Taylor Swift nonstop ever since I got her most recent album, Red.

Only because I know anyone reading this is dying to know about my favorite songs on the album...

Favorite Happy/Upbeat Tracks:
4. I Knew You Were Trouble.
6. 22 (my guilty pleasure--the first time I listened to it, I thought it was super lame. Then I kept listening to it, and now it's one of my favorites)
8. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
9. Stay Stay Stay

Favorite Sad/Slower Tracks:
5. All Too Well
7. I Almost Do
10. The Last Time (featuring Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol)
12. Sad Beautiful Tragic

I've been in a more sad/slower track mood lately. The quotes for my title and the first line of this post are both from the song All Too Well. They really describe how I have been feeling lately. And when I say lately, I mean approximately the past year. I don't really feel the same. It's a strange thing, not feeling like yourself for a whole 12 months.

Liquid Eyeliner

I forgot to put this other commercial up that I do NOT like and really annoys me, so I'm beginning my blog with it:

I don't know why, but I cannot stand this commercial.

Anyway, I've been experimenting with some liquid eyeliner the past two days. It's hard to get right, because mistakes show up very easily. Here are a couple of pictures:

Before I first tried liquid eyeliner, I watched some YouTube videos that really helped with the application!

That's all for today. Nothing too exciting! I have tomorrow off from work, so I'm very much looking forward to that :) Maybe I'll start working out again! ... orrrrr maybe I'll sleep in then lounge around my apartment, taking full advantage of my day off. We shall see!

I've been having a rough couple of weeks, but the thing that I am looking forward to most is visiting my mama over Thanksgiving week! Thanksgiving just isn't the same without her :)

Commercials & Wine

Current least favorite commercial:

Current favorite commercial:

Also--side note--I'm seven days sober! Decided to take a little alcohol hiatus, the only exception being when I share a nice bottle of wine with Ryan for our two year anniversary on November 29. Until then and after that, I'll be off the drink! Current "goal" is midnight of New Year's Eve.

Cute and/or Funny Pinterest Animals...because that's what I need right now.

So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light
Cause oh they gave me such a fright
And I will hold on with all of my might
Just promise me that we'll be alright
